A Series of Firsts

I can't believe a whole month has already passed by since Jorden and I were sealed for time and all eternity. So much has occurred since then.

The wedding was wonderful, thanks to the help and support of so many of our loved ones. It was probably one of the busiest days we'll ever have, but we were able to soak most of it up. There was so much to enjoy:
being announced as a married couple for the first time,

 taking pictures at the temple,

 cutting the cake...

and wiping icing on Jorden's face.

The first dance was fun, even though it was a bit different than the song we picked out.

We had a great time honeymooning in Southern California, visiting the Wild Animal Park, the Del Mar Fair and Knott's Berry Park. Although Aubree had visited most of the places before hand, it was our first time going together.

Saturday, the 7th, we flew back to Utah and with the help of some great friends moved everything into our first apartment Sunday. It's so cute and starting to get the homey feel as we unpack and put up decorations.

Monday afternoon, we received an unexpected phone call from Aubree's dad telling us that her mom, Michele, had passed away. Needless to say, we were quickly provided many opportunities to rely on each other and grow together. I am so grateful that Jorden was able to meet my mom before the wedding and spend some time together. She was so happy at the wedding and so proud of us.

Jorden has been an immense support by coming to California with me. It was the first time in five years that all ten of Aubree's siblings were together. It was a sad time as we miss our mother, but joyful as we celebrate her life and the legacy she leaves behind.

Now, Aubree is visiting Michigan for the first time. It's a beautiful place, and I am excited to see more of it over the next two weeks. Jorden will get here on Friday and I can't wait! He's been in Fort Worth, TX training with Skycam, an aerial camera company. There were 2 positions available for camera operators (pilots) and out of all the trainees, he got the job!! Not that any of us were surprised, he's immensely talented.

We both are looking forward to our reception here in Grand Rapids on August 11th. Jorden and I are excited to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and family here in Michigan. Just 12 more days!
